Ms. Zhao was born in China and graduated from Guangzhou Teacher's College with a B.A. in English. After she came to the U.S., she obtained two master's degrees, one in Elementary Education and the other in Community Counseling. She is passionate about dual language education and has extensive experience in teaching Chinese to students of different age and language backgrounds. As the director, she sees it her mission to create an environment that nurtures a strong sense of community - a community of compassionate learners with an international focus - among children, families and staff.

Ms. Li graduated with a B.A. in Chinese Literature from Henan University, China. She has over ten years of Chinese teaching experience in China, where she was voted Excellent Teacher many times. Ms. Li is experienced in teaching students of various age and language backgrounds. She is especially skilled at motivating students to become lifelong learners.
李老师是小学部一至三年级的级任老师，同时协助学生的辅导与管理。她毕业于河南大学中文系，在中国从事中文教学工作达十年之久，其间获得多项教学优异奖。后移民加拿大，在当地从事幼教工作三年，来美后曾在中文学校任教。李老师善于生动活泼地组织教学活动，多方位地开发学生的思维，能有效地调动学生的积极性。
After graduating from Harvard University with a B.A. in History, Mrs. Ahaghotu spent a year in Madrid, Spain, teaching English and immersing herself in Spanish culture and language. Upon arriving back in the United States, Jennifer graduated from Bank Street College of Education with a Master's degree in Dual Language/Bilingual Elementary Education. For the past few years, Jennifer taught a wide spectrum of children in public and private, as well as monolingual and bilingual schools in New York City. Now, Mrs. Ahaghotu is excited to nurture students at the YingHua Day School intellectually, socially and emotionally; and guide them as they connect to the world around them in positive ways.

Mrs. Smyth is a certified science teacher with experience teaching preschool science and high school chemistry and physics. She is also a professional environmental engineer who received her BE in Chemical Engineering from The Cooper Union. She hopes to nurture children's natural curiosity for a lifetime love of learning through science.

Ms. Wang has a Ph.D. in Math from the University of Utah. She has taught at universities and has also served in Chinese schools for many years. Her love of math and wish to further Chinese education for students in the U.S. has found a perfect meeting point at YHDS.

Ms. Wang has an A.A. in Early Childhood Education from Qingdao Teacher's College, China. In the 15 years of teaching at a prestigious pre-school in China, she was well known and loved for her professionalism and creativity.

Ms. Miao has a Master's Degree in Special Education from Auburn University, Alabama, and is a certified K-12 teacher. A resourceful and energetic teacher, she has extensive teaching experience with students aged 3 through eighth grade.

Ms. Yang graduated from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics with a B.A. in business journalism. She worked in the media industry in China for 3 years. Upon coming to the U.S., Ms. Yang discovered and embraced her passion for education, and has been teaching Chinese to non-Chinese speaking children for over 3 years. She is creative and artistic, and has a natural way of interacting with children. Ms. Yang is currently studying in a CDA (Child Development Associate) Program, and plans to enroll in a graduate program of education.

Ms. Wu graduated from Ming Chuan University, Taiwan, with a B.A. in Accounting. She and her husband, Mr. Hsu, started a learning center in Taiwan over 20 years ago, which has been extremely successful and has graduated thousands of students. Ms. Wu's expertise is with teaching math to students from kindergarten through middle school. She is well loved and respected by her students for her dedication.

Mr. Hsu has a B.S. in Chemistry from Ming Hsin University of Science and Technology, Taiwan. Mr. Hsu and his wife, Ms. Wu owns a successful learning center in Taiwan for more than 20 years. Mr. Hsu is extremely experienced in teaching math and science to students from kindergarten through middle school.

She was a Chinese teacher before she came to the U.S. In the U.S., Ms. Li has held teaching position in various learning institutes, and is known for her energetic and enthusiastic teaching style and student-centered teaching philosophy.

Ms. Zhu received her master degree in Computer Science from City College of New York. A mom of two, she is patient and enthusiastic, and genuinely enjoys teaching and being with children. She believes in discovering the talents and interests of each individual child, and providing guidance and structure so children can feel safe and free to learn and grow.

Ms. Jin graduated from Beijing Information Management School with a major in Publishing and layout design. She has worked as a layout designer for a major Chinese newspaper, and is an enthusiastic painter herself. Jin Laoshi was an instrumental and artistic force behind all of the newsletters of last year. This year, she will be our school-wide art teacher, and will assist in the Pre-School classroom.

She has more than 15 years of experience in the business field, where she co-owned a tutoring service that served students from pre-school to elementary levels. She finds great fulfillment in imparting knowledge and giving guidance to students.
