We made it through
our first two weeks of the school year! Congratulations to all of us! Many things happened in these two weeks – you
will see plenty of photos of our children in action in the pages to follow. We
used the first 3 days to get to know each one of our children, and on Monday,
9/10, we started our academic learning, which follows the International
Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. One of the key components of IB curriculum is
its Programme of Inquiry (POI). Each unit of inquiry goes on for 4 to 6 weeks,
allowing in-depth exploration of a transdisciplinary theme, which is presented
in Chinese and English.
I strongly believe
that parents are our greatest resources, so a Parent Advisory Council (PAC)
will be in place shortly – stay tuned for further notice and please get
involved! Some parents have mentioned a car-pooling network – sounds like a
worthwhile topic for PAC meeting!
